HO HO HO - 2006 Acton Santa Claus Parade

Santa Claus drops by Acton to see if the children have been bad or good in a carriage pulled by horses - he gave the day off to the reindeer. The parade started at 1:00PM on Saturday November 18, 2006 from in front of MacKenzie Smith Bennett school and continued down Highway 7 to Highway 25.

The Acton Fire Department plays a big part in the parade.

The parade starts with a procession of police and EMS vehicles - including fire and ambulance. There were many bands and floats and a lot of candies given out to the children along the parade route.

Mike Chong and Rick Bonnette (newly re-elected Mayor of Halton Hills) wave to the crowds while the sea cadets marched down the street.

The Sea Cadets based out of Guelph Ontario look smart in their uniforms.

The children are all excited as they eagerly await Santa and the candy that is given out by the volunteers and members of the various floats. The newly crowned Miss Acton (Sarah O) sits atop the float to the left.

This little child hopes that Santa can see her in the crowd of children - I don't think he can miss her!

The weather was great - not very cold out and there were more participants in the parade and the kids got quite a bit of candy So as Santa headed back to the North Poles everyone was happy - another great parade Acton!
